About
Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is a video game developed by Mediatonic for the Playstation 4 in which 60 players have to survive colorful obstacle courses with only one being the victor. It released in early August of 2020.
History
Fall Guys was first presented by Devolver Digital on June 10th, 2019 at E3 (shown below, left). A year later, the reveal date for the game was revealed to be August 4th, 2020 (shown below, right). It will be free to PlayStation Plus users.[2]
Online Presence
On July 25th, 2020 the game entered a 48-hour closed beta period, where it received a high amount of attention from streamers and players. It was the number one game on Twitch that weekend, and was #6 on Steam. [1] The game was streamed by Forsen and xQc that weekend (shown below).
The game has been compared to Takeshi's Castle and Wipeout.[3] Polygon[2] noted it could be the game of 2020 due to its popularity among streamers.
A subreddit for the game, /r/FallGuysGame[4] was created on October 5th, 2019, and gained over 1,800 subscribers by the end of July the following year.

Fall Guys' Yellow Team
Fall Guys' Yellow Team refers to a series of memes which imagine the randomly-assigned Yellow Team in the battle-royale video game Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout as the worst of the four team options, with players who end up on the team being bound to lose. The jokes partly reflect the tendency of players on the red and blue teams to gang up on yellow team in three-team games.
