Epstein Quarter Zip refers to a custom-made quarter zip sweatshirt famously worn by Jeffrey Epstein featuring the initials "J.E.E." on the front left breast and an American flag on the left sleeve. Epstein was photographed wearing the sweater on May 18th, 2005, to the launch party for Radar Magazine. This photograph ultimately became one of the most well-known images of Epstein. The quarter zip inspired various memes in the 2020s as discourse surrounding the Epstein Files became more prevalent, including photoshops that put the sweater on popular characters.

The growing discourse around the Epstein Files and case also inspired some people to recreate the sweater and sell it. Notably, in February 2026, controversial streamer and political commentator Nick Fuentes released a line of merchandise recreating the quarter zip, replacing the initials on the front breast with "U.S.A."

History

On May 18th, 2005, a photograph of Jeffrey Epstein wearing a custom-made quarter zip sweatshirt brandished with his initials and the American flag was posted to Getty Images.^[1] The photograph was taken and uploaded by Neil Rasmus/Patrick McMullan at the Radar Magazine launch party in New York City.

In the 2020s, as discourse surrounding the release of the Epstein Files, Epstein's death and Epstein's trafficking charges in general increased, this photograph became one of the most used and well-known photos of Epstein online.

Alleged Resale

On September 2nd, 2025, Instagram^[2] user restricted.lifestyle made a post sharing photos of what appears to be Jeffrey Epstein's sweater, claiming that they're selling the authentic Epstein quarter zip, garnering over 28,000 likes in five months. The authenticity of the item is unconfirmed.

On September 4th, the Complex Instagram^[3] page posted about the alleged resale, claiming it was being sold for $11,000, garnering over 24,000 likes in the same span of time.

Online Presence

Nick Fuentes Merchandise

Numerous web shops and brands recreated the sweater and sold it as merchandise in the 2020s, as notoriety surrounding the clothing item increased online.

As early as January 31st, 2026, controversial political commentary streamer Nick Fuentes started selling a replica of the sweater on his web shop^[4] that replaces the initials on the left breast with "U.S.A."

The sweater drew some controversy following its debut. For example, on that day, X^[5] user @itsmorganariel posted side-by-side photos of Epstein and Fuentes in the sweater, writing, "Nick said Jeffrey Epstein did nothing wrong and then told you to go to his site and buy his merch. Is this your leader?" garnering over 5,400 likes in about a week.

On February 1st, X^[6] user @AFpumpfun posted a clip from Fuentes' stream where he shows off the quarter zip, garnering over 2,300 likes in a week. In the clip, Fuentes claims he's sold over 1,000 of them already.

That day, X^[7] user @realspeckzo quoted @itsmorganariel's post, writing, "The Epstein quarter zip is the best rage bait/IQ filter I’ve ever witnessed. Pure genius," garnering over 10,000 likes in a week.

Epstein Quarter Zip Cosplay Roblox

In February 2026, reports of players using custom Roblox items to recreate Jeffrey Epstein and his quarter zip sweater went viral, inspiring controversy.

On February 3rd, 2026, X^[8] user @DevVincis made a post writing, "I was excited to see that one of my UGC items had a spike in sales… so disappointed to see what it's actually being used for," tagging Roblox for help. Screenshots show their item, an American flag patch, being used for Epstein-inspired outfits. The post gained over 16,000 likes in a week.

On February 4th, X^[9] user @Fishen_ posted a screenshot from Roblox that shows another player cosplaying as Epstein in the quarter zip, writing, "The fact that people take this absolute piece of human filth and turn him into a joke because of whatever reddit humor they find funny is disgusting, geniuenly fuck off," garnering over 31,000 likes in six days.
