DuckTales is an American animated television series produced by Walt Disney Television Animation[1] running from 1987-1990 with four seasons and 100 episodes. The show follows Disney character Uncle Scrooge, who first appeared in Mickey's Christmas Carol, living with nephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie and going on adventures. Its popularity during its run has made it an object of nostalgia for fans, culminating in several memes and a reboot planned for release in 2017.
History
The show debuted on September 28th, 1987 and ran to November 28th, 1990. It was the first Disney show produced for syndication. On August 3rd, 1990, a DuckTales movie, DuckTales the Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp was released in theaters. It also spawned a spinoff series, Darkwing Duck.
Reception
The show has generated positive critical reception from fans and critics alike. In January 2009, IGN listed DuckTales as the 18th best show in the Top 100 Best Animated TV Shows. and in 2013, WatchMojo.com ranked DuckTales as the #1 animated Disney series.

DuckTales remains popular on social media, with over 2.1 million Facebook likes[2] and 4,100 Twitter[3] followers.
Reboot
In late 2016, DuckTales interest spiked when the cast of the reboot was announced via a video in which they sang the theme (shown below). The cast includes David Tennant, Danny Pudi, Bobby Moynihan, and many more. The show is due to premiere in 2017.
