About
Da Hood is a Roblox Experience role-playing game that takes place in a gang-related environment where users are either cops or criminals that form a gang. It falls under the "Town and City" genre and was created in early 2019 by Da Hood Entertainment. It has since been featured in many Let's Plays on YouTube and TikTok. The game has also been raided by Junkbots due to its prominence. It's also received backlash and criticism for its perceived toxic player base and purported racist undertones.
History
On January 27th, 2019, Roblox[1] game development group Da Hood Entertainment, owned by the player JokeDaFool, created the experience game "Da Hood," a game where players are either "Cops (Officers)" or "Criminals" and collect cash, allowing them to collect different weapons used for offense or defense against players.[2] The Cops' role is to arrest the criminals with handcuffs while the Criminals' role is to rob banks and other small shops in town. Going into mid-2019, Roblox Let's Players started playing the game. For instance, on May 14th, 2019, YouTuber feenova posted a video in which she was kidnapped in Da Hood, gaining roughly 231,800 views in three years (shown below). Over the course of three years, the experience has been visited over 1.6 billion times and has received roughly 2.4 million favorites.

Racist Player Base Controversies
As Da Hood became a Top 10 experience on Roblox going into 2021, various YouTubers started making content about its player base's racist undertones. On September 28th, 2021, YouTuber EpicM1 posted a video titled, "This Roblox Youtuber is VERY RACIST," which was about Dimag16's Discord server. It received roughly 242,800 views in one year (shown below, left).
