Chained Together is a cooperative challenge video game in which two to four players climb out of the depths of hell while chained together, having to jump and dodge obstacles in sync while ascending. Released in June 2024, the game went viral on streaming services such as Twitch and YouTube as many streamers began playing the game, similar to Only Up!
History
On September 2nd, 2023, indie video game developer Anegar Games announced[1] Chained Together, a cooperative platformer game in which players have to climb and dodge obstacles while chained to each other.
On May 7th, 2024, the first trailer for the game was released[2] (shown below).

On June 19th, 2024, Chained Together was released for PC on Steam.[3]
Gameplay and Features
Chained Together is a cooperative platformer game in which the players are tasked with climbing structures and dodging obstacles and contraptions while chained to each other. The game is inspired by the 2017 video game Getting Over It With Benedict Foddy and the 2023 video game Only Up!, with mistakes possibly resetting players' progress.
Reception
Upon release, the game received positive reviews. On Steam,[4] the game maintained a 90 percent approval rating as of June 25th, 2024, with over 3,000 user reviews.

Streamer Popularity
In the week following its release, the game went viral among streamers on Twitch, YouTube and other streaming services, with gameplay and fail clips being shared on Reddit, X, and other sites. For example, on June 21st, 2024, YouTuber koichinko posted a gameplay clip that garnered over 3.1 million views on X[5] in four days (shown below).
