Reception

The film received poor reviews from critics upon release. On the review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, the film has a score of 31% rotten based on 84 reviews and an audience score of 48% based on more than 243,000 ratings.^[1][2] In their critics consensus, the site writes, "Bubble Boy bounces along with lame, offensive jokes that are more tasteless than funny."

The film was a box office disappointment, grossing more than $8 million on a production budget of $13 million.^[3]
