On October 16th, 2023, X[1] / Twitter user @ttrpgay, a TTRPG game master, made a post in which she compared straight and queer player groups playing Dungeons and Dragons, writing that straight people were into combat and following rules while queer people focused on character creation and development. The post (shown below) garnered over 2,800 reposts and 18,800 likes prior to deletion,

The post went viral on X and was followed by viral reactions in which users argued with the author of the post and made memes poking fun at it. For example, on October 18th, 2023, X[2] user @bahlivern quoted the post with an edited version of How Creative People See the World which received over 910 reposts and 13,200 likes in one day (shown below, left). On October 18th, 2023, X[3] user @SlipMaker posted a Casino Royale Poker Game Parodies meme that gained over 1,200 reposts and 9,100 likes in the same period (shown below, right).



Discussions surrounding the post continued online, with several posts going viral, leading to @ttrpgay later removing their post.
