Stop Sending Me This Shit refers to a series of exploitable photoshopped tweets in which celebrities implore their fans to stop sending them pictures of characters they resemble, similar to the Totally Looks Like series.

Origin

On July 20th, 2018, Imgur user OpticRandumb^[1] posted a photoshopped image of a tweet by Steve Harvey asking his users to "stop sending me this shit," followed by a picture of Harvey and a picture of the Mr. Potato Head toy with exaggerated features. This gained over 6,500 points and 186,000 views on the site (shown below).

Spread

Over the course of the following week, the format spread to include different celebrities and humorous lookalikes. For example, a July 26th post to Facebook page 8shit comparing Miley Cyrus to Ben Stiller as Simple Jack gained over 6,800 likes and reactions (shown below, left). On July 31st, The Facebook page for Fuckjerry reposted an iteration of the meme with Bob Saget, gaining over 2,900 likes and reactions (shown below, right).

Other popular examples of the meme include a variation posted to Facebook showing Vladmir Putin as a dog (shown below, left) and Sylvester Stallone as a green pepper, posted to Imgur July 22nd (shown below, right).
