On May 24th, 2022, TikToker^[1] @arzinhoo posted a video set to a mashup of the opening of "Step 1" by SleazyWorld Go followed by "Ylang Ylang" by FKJ where the lyric "Step one" plays, then cuts to several clips and images of everyday life under the caption, "treat her right," garnering over 2 million views in three months (shown below).

The video inspired a trend over the following months where users give a piece of advice or cut to a video after the lyric "step one." On May 25th, 2022, TikToker^[2] @swirlyadrian1 posted a video telling people to graduate, garnering over 5 million views in three months (shown below, left). On July 3rd, TikToker^[3] @yofavorite.gemini posted a video following the trend cutting to a video of someone shoplifting, garnering over 6.3 million views in two months (shown below, right).
