Memes about Steam Support were popularized online, particularly on TikTok, in February and March 2025, with some comparing Steam Support to hitmen or special forces teams.

Throughout the late 2010s and early 2020s, numerous posts were made online celebrating Steam's efficient support team for their speed and effectiveness in solving issues, such as getting hacked accounts back. Many examples of these posts were made to the /r/Steam[1][2][3] subreddit.

It is unconfirmed when the first meme about Steam Support was posted online. One of the earliest examples is a Swole Doge vs. Cheems meme posted to /r/memes[4] by Redditor u/Bespaeyeeterskeet on August 27th, 2021, garnering over 200 upvotes in four years.

On February 1st, 2025, Redditor u/Maleficent_Poem6256 posted an image macro to the subreddit /r/Steam[5] using an image of John Wick (Keanu Reeves) walking toward the camera, captioned, "How Steam Support starts moving after you tell them your account has been hacked," garnering over 23,000 upvotes in a month.



Memes about Steam's support team continued to go viral throughout February 2025, particularly on TikTok. For example, on February 1st, 2025, TikToker[6] @nighttail.cc posted a video using a similar caption to the Reddit post that gained over 1.3 million views in a month.


On February 3rd, TikToker[7] @worley_cd posted a meme about Steam Support helping someone get their account back, then personally taking out the hacker, garnering over 10 million views in a month.


On February 5th, 2025, TikToker[8] @hossfrr posted a meme in which he compares PlayStation's support team to Steam's support team, portraying the PlayStation support team as inefficient by comparison, garnering over 10.5 million views in a month.


On March 22nd, TikToker[9] @upgooning posted a video celebrating Steam Support that uses gameplay footage of Max Payne 3 to represent the support team, garnering over 100,000 views in three days.
