The Spamtopia Waitress is a character briefly featured in Smiling Friends season two, episode seven depicted as a restaurant waitress with blonde hair, a purple bow and an exaggerated, wide smile on her face. Later in the episode, she is seen chasing Pim and Mr. Boss's car and her face distorts, giving her a more frightening appearance. The character became the subject of memes and fan art following the episode's premiere on June 16th, 2024.

Origin

On June 16th, 2024, Smiling Friends season two, episode seven premiered on Adult Swim. During the episode, Pim and Mr. Boss visit a strange city called Spamtopia filled with psychedelic visuals and characters. One character featured throughout the episode is a nameless waitress who has a single pose. In her first appearance, she arrives at Pim and Mr. Boss's table and then vanishes into thin air while making a strange noise after Mr. Boss asks what types of lagers they have. In her second appearance, she chases Pim and Mr. Boss's jeep with a creepily distorted appearance (shown below).

The waitress became the subject of artwork, reactions and memes over the following days. On June 17th, 2024, X[1] user @mutantastronaut posted a clip of the waitress, writing, "This is the kind of brain rot I come to Smiling Friends for," garnering over 20,000 likes in three days (shown below).

That day, X[2] user @17yearoldontwit made a post comparing the waitress to a character on a "rules for good listening" poster, writing, "The Spamtopia waitress looks like one of these things from elementary school," garnering over 12,000 likes in three days (shown below, left). Later that day, X[3] user @ATOMIKSAICO posted fan art of the waitress, garnering over 3,200 likes in three days (shown below, right).

On June 18th, 2024, YouTuber[4] chrØminØid_04 posted a compilation of the waitress' clips, garnering over 100,000 views in two days. On the same day, X[5] user @Return0fTheMari posted a screenshot of the waitress along with a comment claiming that the Spamtopia episode is a satire of the woke movement, garnering over 55,000 likes in two days (shown below). The post inspired debates, with many disagreeing with the sentiment.

On June 20th, X[6] user @_milkghost_ posted artwork of the Spamtopia waitress, including drawings of her in her standard form vs. her distorted form, garnering over 9,300 likes in under a day (shown below).
