"Sometimes, if you listen very carefully, you can hear my genius" is a memorable quote uttered by television host Jeremy Clarkson on an episode of the Amazon Prime series The Grand Tour.

Origin

On December 30th, 2016, the episode "The Beach (Buggy) Boys – Namibia Special Part 1 aired. At around minute 36 Jeremy Clarkson explains how he repaired his beach buggy allowing the throttle valve to open and close again. Commenting on the success of his creation, Clarkson says "Sometimes, if you listen very carefully, you can hear my genius"

On January 3rd, 2017, The Grand Tour's Twitter account shared a post with the catch phrase, although using another image to portray Clarkson's genius.

One of the earliest uses of the phrase is encountered on an Instagram group chat published on Imgur on November 4th, 2017, suggesting that the image was created before that date. [first image from left]
