Sneakers O'Toole is a cutaway gag based character from the animated series Family Guy whose main personality traits are his obsession with his sneakers and his refusal to take them off. His quirky debut and catchy tune quickly gained the ironic and unironic love from internet users years later.

History

Sneakers O'Toole first and only appearance on Family Guy was in the Episode "Boys Do Cry" which first aired April 29, 2007, where he appears as the main protagonist of Brian's Statement^[1].

Spread

YouTube content creator SynthCool was one of the first artists to realise the memetic potential of Sneakers O'Toole and created both a character analysis video and a redubbing of the clip.

In the April of 2017, a gimmick Twitter account was created to repost the clip, causing a spread of the character's popularity^[2].
