Small Waist Pretty Face With A Big Bank Challenge, or the Big Bank Challenge, refers to a trend on TikTok set to the song "Mean" by $not and Flo Milli in which the TikToker, usually female, shows off their waist, frames their face with their hands, then turns quickly to show their butt as the lyrics, "I've got a small waist, pretty face with a big bank" play. The trend began as early as January 2021, spreading over the course of the year.

Origin

It is unclear who originally started the Big Bank Challenge, but one of the earliest viral examples was uploaded on January 2nd, 2021, by TikToker^[1] @halle.c00l.cat, who performed it in a Subway restaurant uniform, garnering over 7.8 million views in five months (shown below).

The trend took off significantly that day, with numerous other TikTokers^[3][4] going viral performing it shortly after (most popular examples from January 2nd shown below).

The trend peaked in January but continued to spread over the course of the next five months.

On January 11th, 2021, TikToker^[5] Andrew Rousso posted a comedy skit about a girl scrolling her boyfriend's For You page and seeing videos in the trend, garnering over 6.7 million views in five months (shown below).

On January 26th, 2021, YouTuber^[2] Tiktok clips posted a short compilation showing off the trend, garnering over 4.6 million views in five months (shown below).

By June 2021, the original sound associated with the trend inspired over 550,000 videos on TikTok. The hashtag "#bigbank" boasts over 1.2 billion total views.

On January 3rd, 2021, TikToker^[9] @_kieranicolee posted a video in which she performs the trend, but TikTok's text-to-speech voice cuts in after the lyric "pretty face with a" and says "small bank but that's okay because I'm still pretty," garnering over 500,000 views in five months (shown below).

The original sound inspired over 72,000 videos on TikTok^[10][11] over the course of the next five months, resulting in a number of viral examples (shown below, left and right).

"Can't Make A Wife Out Of A Hoe" Remix

On January 9th, 2021, TikToker^[6] @milamarkoviccc posted a video in which she performs the trend, then the song suddenly transitions to a section of The Kid Laroi's song "WITHOUT YOU" featuring the lyrics "can't make a wife out of a hoe," implying that the trend is performed by hoes. She shows a shocked expression then walks off camera sadly (shown below). The video gained over 500,000 views in five months.

The sound inspired over 6,000 videos over the course of the next five months. Notably, it was used by TikTokers^[7][8] @isivives_ on January 21st and Bella Poarch on February 16th, garnering over 2.9 million and 24.1 million views respectively by June 2021 (shown below, left and right).
