About
The Slushie Truck Trend, also known as the Throwing Slushies At Trucks Trend, took off on TikTok in January and February 2024 with truck and car owners going to a 7/11 or a similar convenience store and gas station, filling up a slushie cup full of flavored ice and throwing it at their vehicle's windshield or hood. The videos are typically set to the song "Bag Season" by Jay Lewis. The trend gained media attention in early February 2024, with many commenting on the absurdity of the videos or seeking answers to why people were participating.
Origin

However, the earliest known clip of someone throwing their slushie at their vehicle's windshield was posted by TikToker[3] @hunterboolay on January 18th, 2024. TikTokers continued to participate in the trend and sometimes responded or commented on it in January 2024. On January 23rd, TikToker[6] @kamendockery23 posted a video that gathered over 9.8 million plays and 900,000 likes in two weeks (seen below, left). Slushie Trend Explained
Several TikTokers posted videos expressing confusion over why the trend exists or what it means, as seen in a January 24th, 2024, post[8] by user @lillyydeniisee that gathered over 500,000 plays and 7,000 likes in two weeks (seen below, left). TikToker[9] @hunterboolay posted a video on January 30th explaining how he was the first to throw a slushie at his car and that he only did it after seeing @brett.michaels' video and thinking, "What does that have to do with trucks." The post gathered over 500,000 plays and 64,000 likes in a week (seen below, right).
