Skebob or СКЕБОБ is a gourd sculpture of a crow with a round body, large beak and frizzy head of hair used in a series of Russian memes. Skebob was created and shared by Pinterest user Jenn Norpchen in December 2017. The photo of the artwork was turned into an image macro as early as July 2024, when Russian SoundCloud rapper Erosion used it for the cover of his song "4Пенопластырь Клубняк 2008." The memes were further popularized both inside and outside of Russia on TikTok in late June and early July 2025 as an AI trend in which AI programs are used to bring Skebob to life, including memes where he fights against the character Roblox Egor.

Origin

On December 20th, 2017, Pinterest^[1] user and artist Jenn Norpchen posted a photograph of one of her latest gourd sculptures, writing in the description, "Pet Crow…Everyone should have one!" garnering roughly seven likes in eight years.

It is unclear when exactly "СКЕБОБ" was first written over the image, turning it into a meme. The earliest known person to share the image macro is SoundCloud^[2] artist Erosion, who on March 7th, 2024, used the image macro as the cover for his song "4Пенопластырь Клубняк 2008." It is unconfirmed if this is the true first appearance of the specific СКЕБОБ meme.

Memes featuring Skebob became increasingly popular in mid-2025 on sites like Instagram and TikTok.

For example, on May 9th, 2025, Instagram^[3] user 7daysgon3 posted a version of the Skebob image macro, garnering over 1,700 likes in two months.

On May 19th, TikToker^[4] @leskinn.offc posted a meme starting with a fake Kanye West tweet reading, "Fuck Skebob" followed by an edit of the Skebob meme, garnering over 340,000 views in a month.

On June 27th, TikToker^[5] @werdek46 posted an AI-generated meme in which Skebob is shown getting off his perch and hopping around as police run by in the background, garnering over 160,000 views in six days. The video sparked a wider trend that uses AI to bring Skebob to life in certain situations.

On June 30th, 2025, TikToker^[6] @andrewgerasimow posted an AI Skebob video in which Skebob smokes a cigarette and is then confronted by a larger bird, dropping his cigarette, garnering over 292,000 views in three days.

On July 1st, TikToker^[7] @swit_123 posted an AI-generated video of Skebob getting into and firing a tank, garnering over 2.3 million views in two days.
