We The Unicorns is a London-based entertainment news site dedicated to YouTube and Vine culture. It is part of the PopBuzz Network and focuses primarily on Internet news while PopBuzz covers a broader variety of pop culture news.

History

In June 2015 the We The Unicorns website [1] was launched. Two months later on August 13th, the We The Unicorns YouTube channel [2] was created. A month later, on September 30th, two articles were uploaded to the website both six hours apart and written by Hollie-Anne Brooks [3][4].

On December 23rd, 2015, We The Unicorns uploaded it's first video (shown below) serving as the site's first year-in-review. As of April 2018 it has received almost 6,000 views.

YouTuber News

On March 2nd, 2017, We The Unicorns uploaded the first episode of a new series called YouTuber News, originally called Fake News hosted by Benedict Townsend which as of May 2019 has 1,800 views (shown below).

Logan Paul's Suicide Forest Video

On December 31st, 2017, Logan Paul uploaded a video to YouTube where he visits Aokigahara [5], better known as the Suicide Forest, and discovers a dead body. Five days later, on January 5th, 2018, We The Unicorns uploaded a YouTuber News video about the situation (shown below, left) which received 1,000,000 views. On the same day, they uploaded a video showcasing Logan Paul's other disrespectful behaviors while in Japan which received 1,200,000 views (shown below, right).

The same video was shared by other news sites including HuffPost [6], Mashable [7] and The Telegraph [8] as the second major case against Logan Paul. Also on January 5th, We The Unicorns tweeted out the same video showcasing Logan Paul's other disrespectful behaviors (shown below) which garnered 170,000 retweets and 390,000 likes [9].

Channel Rebrand

On April 2019, We The Unicorns YouTube channel was rebranded to YouTuber News (shown below) while their website and Twitter account has remained the same.

Interviews & Collaborations

On March 16th, 2016, We The Unicorns uploaded a collaboration with YouTuber [10] Savannah Brown promoting her new book (shown below, left) which received 4,000 views. On August 9th, 2017, We The Unicorns uploaded an episode of a series called YouTubers Under Oath featuring YouTuber [11] Dodie Clark (shown below, right) which received 93,000 views.

On September 24th, 2017, We The Unicorns uploaded a collaboration video with Musical.ly stars [12] Lisa and Lena where they play the party game Who's Most Likely To (shown below, left) which received 3,000,000 views. On February 25th, 2018, they uploaded an interview with YouTuber [13] Christine Sydelko (shown below, right) which received 130,000 views.
