Viggle AI, or ViggleAI, is an AI-powered video generation tool that allows users to replace characters or subjects in videos with other people and characters. The tool went viral on X / Twitter in mid-April 2024 as it was used to generate Lil Yachty Walks Out on Stage memes and other content by replacing the rapper with other individuals.

History

On December 12th, 2023, the development team behind VIggleAI opened access to the video generative AI via its Discord.^[1] On January 16th, 2024, the official website for the product was launched.^[2]

On March 14th, 2024, ViggleAI then launched^[3] its new model, able to animate characters with a text prompt or a reference video.

Highlights

ViggleAI achieved virality as a meme-making tool in April 2024 after X^[4] user @AIWarper posted a Lil Yachty Walks Out on Stage meme on April 8th, 2024, in which rapper Lil Yachty was replaced with Joker, receiving over 1,000 reposts and 3,900 likes in nine days (shown below).

The post was followed by more similar memes created with Viggle AI, most notably based on the Lil Yachty video and on the hospital explosion scene from the 2008 film The Dark Knight.

For example, on April 11th, 2024, X^[5] user @CensoredMen posted a version of the Lil Yachty meme in which the rapper was replaced with Adolf Hitler. The post (shown below) gained over 14,000 reposts and 152,000 likes in six days.

On April 12th, X^[6] user @betafuzz posted an edit of the The Dark Knight scene, replacing Joker with Sam Bankman-Fried. The video garnered over 260 reposts and 1,600 likes in five days (shown below).

The tool maintained popularity in memes through mid-April 2024.
