SoyTube Kids is a YouTube channel that parodies popular YouTube Kids channels (such as Cocomelon and Super JoJo) by uploading "educational Soyjak videos for children." Launched in mid-February 2023, the channel went viral on Twitter as users shared images of and commented on its first video, "Learn Numbers and Colors with Feraljak."
History
On December 26th, 2022, YouTube[1] channel SoyTube Kids was created. On February 15th, 2023, the channel uploaded[2] its first video, "Learn Numbers and Colors with Feraljak." In the video, Feraljak (often used in The Great Reset memes such as I Will Not Eat the Bugs), is eating plates of bugs of various colors, with the number of bugs on each plate increasing from one to 10. The video (shown below) gained nearly 50,000 views in one week.
Online Reactions
In the following week, the video became a subject of viral posts on Twitter as users discovered it. For example, on February 19th, 2023, Twitter[3] user @aodanhill tweeted a screenshot of the SoyTube Kids channel, writing, "I will raise my kids to this," with the post gaining over 320 retweets and 3,200 likes in two days. On February 20th, Twitter[4] user @nflstreet4 tweeted the video, commenting, "the last thing my child watches before dying in a hot car." The tweet gained over 1,400 retweets and 9,800 likes in one day (shown below, right).
On February 20th, 2023, Twitter[5] user @sugarsmorecake tweeted a screenshot of the channel, commenting, "this is officially the worst thing ive ever seen in my life." The tweet garnered over 3,800 retweets and 52,300 likes (shown below).
Related Memes
Soyjak
Soyjak is a version of Wojak used to mock so-called nu-males, or soy boys. Online, thousands versions of Soyjak characters have been circulated, with the meme spawning a dedicated community.
