ai_sponge or AI-Generated SpongeBob is a constant Twitch livestream of an AI-generated parody of the animated series SpongeBob SquarePants, with the artificial intelligence generating dialogue, animations and voicing SpongeBob and Patrick. Launched on March 5th, 2023, the channel drew attention on social media with sexual dialogues and discussions of communism and tax fraud.
History
On March 5th, 2023, Twitch[1] channel ai_sponge was launched, broadcasting a continuous livestream of AI-generated scenes with 3D SpongeBob and Patrick, and the skits interrupted by “Some Time Later” Time Cards (example shown below).
On March 7th, 2023, Twitter[2] news account Dexerto tweeted a clip from the channel, with the post gaining over 70 retweets and 870 likes in three days (shown below).
On March 7th, the channel was then temporarily banned.[3]
Features
ai_sponge hosts an endless AI-generated SpongeBob SquarePants parody stream. The dialogue, animations and voices of SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick Star are generated by AIs.
