Shiba Inu Barking at an Office Meeting is an image macro series featuring a photograph of a shiba inu dog with its paws on a table barking at a man across the table while the room is on a video conference call.

Origin

The earliest known usage of the image was posted on October 31st, 2018 by writer Jemele Hill on Twitter. ^[1] They captioned the image "Per My Last Email." The post received more than 115,000 likes and 31,000 retweets in less than two years (shown below).

Spread

Over the next year, the image continued to spread on Twitter. For example, on December 6th, Twitter^[2] user @O7h13 posted the image with the caption "EU NÃO AGUENTO MAIS CORRER PRA BUSCAR A BOLINHA QUE VC NUNCA JOGOU WELLINGTON É PRAZER EM FAZER OS OUTROS DE TROUXA ISSO QUE VC SENTE." The tweet received more than 3,400 likes and 1,100 retweets in less than two years (shown below, left).

The following year, the image moved to Instagram. On February 15th, 2019, Instagram^[3] user @tank.sinatra posted the image with the caption "Me halfway through any conference call." In about one year, the image received more than 42,000 likes (shown below, center).

On March 5th, Redditor dr137 shared a since-deleted tweet by Twitter user @msshanitarenee that captioned the image "THIS ENTIRE MEETING COULD HAVE BEEN AN EMAIL!!!" on the /r/BlackPeopleTwitter subreddit.^[4] Within one year, the post received more than
