Shaved Head Pete Buttigieg is an image macro series featuring a screenshot of Mayor Pete Buttigieg's appearance on the daytime talk show The View.

Origin

On April 9th, 2020, Buttigieg appeared in a video interview on the The View. When posted to Twitter, the video received more than 5,500 views, 400 likes and 110 retweets in less than two days (shown below).

Spread

Moments after the show posted the video, Twitter^[1] user @abcdentminded shared a screenshot of Buttigieg with the caption "Dude 👀👀." The tweet received more than 4,000 likes and 275 retweets in less than two days (shown below, left).

Hours later, Twitter^[2] user @jacobisanadult tweeted^[2] the image in comparison to a recent photo of fellow-former presidential candidate Beto O'Rourke. They captioned the tweet, "the virgin post-loss pete vs the chad post-loss beto." The tweet received more than 20,000 likes and 1,400 retweets in less than 24 hours (shown below, center).

The screenshot also inspired a series of image edits, including an image in which Buttigieg has curly hair and a mustache posted by Twitter^[3] user @_smarxist_.
