Shaq's Coronavirus Quarantine Dance Party is a viral video of former professional basketball player Shaquille O'Neal DJing a dance party in a kitchen as a group of men dance around him and on countertops. The video inspired a series of remix videos in which memers replace the soundtrack so the men dance to different music.

Origin

On March 30th, 2020, Shaquille O'Neal posted the original video on Instagram. [1] The post received more than 5.9 million views and 1.2 million views (shown below).

Spread

The following day, Instagram[2] user @sonny5ideup posted a variation of the video with the soundtrack replaced with the Blink-182 song "What's My Age Again?" Within one week, the post received more than 204,000 views and 27,000 likes (Twitter post below).

Over the next week, others shared variations on the remix on Twitter. For example, on April 2nd, Twitter user @WhiskeyRiff shared a variation that received more than 174,000 views, 3,100 likes and 1,100 retweets (shown below).

Several media outlets covered the video, including The New York Post,[1] Golf Digest[2] and more.
