Seong Gi-hun Staring At Dae-ho refers to memes and jokes about the protagonist Seong Gi-hun (played by actor Lee Jung-jae) staring at Kang Dae-ho (Kang Ha-neul), Player 388, in season 3 of the Netflix television show Squid Game. In the scene, Gi-hun is shown to be staring angrily at Dae-ho after finding out that he failed to deliver vital ammunition supplies out of cowardice during the season 2 finale of the show. Internet users began sharing exploitable memes, reactions and jokes using a montage of Gi-hun staring daggers at Dae-ho in late June 2025. People used the template, often via caption memes, to joke about being angry at their friends or siblings, and made edits expressing Gi-hun's quiet anger and frustration with Dae-ho.
Origin
The third season of the Netflix television show Squid Game was released on June 27th, 2025. The season closely followed the events of the season 2 finale, during which the protagonist, Seong Gi-hun, tried to lead an uprising against the game masters holding him captive. Player number 388, Kang Dae-ho, had failed at his task of bringing backup ammunition to Gi-hun's forces, leading Gi-hun to develop a grudge against him in the third season of the show.
YouTuber[1] charmbooked posted a montage of Gi-hun staring at Dae-ho on June 30th, 2025, gathering over 70,000 views in two days.
Clips of Seong Gi-hun staring daggers at Dae-ho began gaining traction soon after the show released in late June 2025.
On June 28th, 2025, TikToker[2] @rohanstwin posted a video montage of Gi-hun staring at Player 388, writing, "How I look at my siblings after finding out they ate my food." The post gathered over 530,000 plays and 80,000 likes in four days.
TikToker[3] @yallyucky also posted a video on June 28th, writing, "How I look at my younger siblings after I get in trouble for something they did." The post gathered over 600,000 plays and 130,000 likes in four days.

On June 30th, 2025, TikToker[4] @k1ss.woohh posted a dubbed video showing Gi-hun repeating the phrase "Kang Dae-ho I'm going to kill you." The post gathered over 700,000 plays and 160,000 likes in two days.
That same day, TikToker[5] @nvrmii posted a video that read, "You're lucky I'm on ban warning ahh scenes," gathering over 160,000 plays and 60,000 likes in two days.
Also on June 30th, 2025, a GIF version of the meme began making the rounds on Twitter / X. X[6] user @mpreganaxa posted the GIF alongside a caption that read, "how it feels to have random priv followers," gathering over 59,000 likes in two days.
Later on June 30th, X[7] user @creambarf tweeted, "how it feels getting in a match with someone you shit talked last game," gathering over 13,000 likes in two days.
