Second Eye refers to TikTok videos parodying the opening lyrics of Fun.'s song "We are Young" with videos of people, animal's and things in need of a second "eye" or "i." The opening lyrics of the song are "Give me a second I."

Origin

On September 20th, 2011, the American indie pop group "Fun." released their single, "We Are Young."^[2] Their official music video gained over 647 million views in eight years on YouTube (shown below).

On March 18th, 2019, TikTok user @morganmgood uploaded a video showing their one-eyed cat in sync with the opening lyrics^[1]. The video garnered over 232,400 likes and 25,900 shares in two months (shown below).

On March 18th, 2019, the same day as the original video was made, TikTok user @muchaclips uploaded a similar video with their one-eyed dog (Shown below, left). the video gained over 74,400 likes and 6,000 shares in two months. On March 29th, TikTok user @jfox0305 uploaded a video that corrects a spelling mistake with a second eye (shown below, center). The video gained over 59,000 likes and 3,000 shares in a little over a month. On April 10th, @jarrettstodg uploaded a video faturing his own missing eye (shown below, right). The video accumulated over 136,600 likes and 10,900 shares in a month.
