Running Baby Animation, also known as Sprinting Green Infant, refers to memes and jokes about a viral video animation from the Animal Planet show The Most Extreme. The meme shows a green animation of a human baby getting up and running at the speed of 32 miles per hour. The video became popularized online in early 2023.
Origin
On September 7th, 2004, the Animal Planet show The Most Extreme[1] aired an episode titled, "Toughest Babies," showing how different animals adapt to survive at a young age. The episode used the example of a human baby to illustrate the speed at which young giraffes can run. The animation showed an animated human baby running at 32 miles an hour (seen below).[2]

A video of the running baby animation was posted to TikTok[3] on March 21st, 2023, by user @iamyourburgerman, gathering over 5 million plays and 1 million likes in a year (seen below, left). On February 10th, 2024, TikToker[4] @hansssrl gathered over 32,000 views and 5,000 likes in three months (seen below, right).
The meme also made an appearance on Tumblr[5] in 2023, as seen in a September 20th, 2023, post by Tumblr[5] user @prohaloplayer, gathering over 43,000 notes in eight months (seen below). On October 24th, X[6] user @coolgirl0nline posted the running baby meme alongside text that read, "my nephew just learned how to walk ❤️," gathering over 4,000 likes in seven months (seen below, right).
