Rule 386 is an unofficial rule of the internet related to the video game Ultrakill, stating that anything white with a black circle in the middle is Minos Prime, the boss enemy in the " P-1: SOUL SURVIVOR" mission, who has a black hole for a face. The phrase was inspired by the "Is That Minos Prime" TikTok trend, popularized in late April 2025 and beginning as early as August 2024, which sees users share images and videos of things that arguably resemble or remind people of Minos Prime, similar to the Things that Look Like Crewmates meme. The term "rule 386" was coined in early May 2025 to describe the trend.

Origin

As early as August 21st, 2024, Ultrakill fans have been posting memes in which they share images of things that remind them of the Ultrakill boss Minos Prime,^[1] depicted as a humanoid being with a white body and a black hole in his face.

On that day, TikToker^[2] @lemonphus posted a slideshow video consisting of a Domino's Pizza restaurant with only the letters "mino's" lit up, garnering over 300,000 views in nine months. This is one of the earliest known examples of the meme.

Spread

The meme continued to spread over the following months. For example, on December 12th, 2024, TikToker^[3] @the.butch3r_ posted a photo of the "P-1" button on an elevator, editing an image of Minos Prime next to it, referencing the level in which he appears, "P-1: SOUL SURVIVOR," garnering over 212,000 views in five months.

On April 29th, 2025, TikToker^[4] @ponponovski0 posted an image of the bottom part of a tree, which has been painted white with a black circle in the center, writing in the description, "IS THAT MINOS PRIME????" garnering over 153,000 views in two weeks.

On May 2nd, TikToker^[5] @lolmanlezgoo posted a video consisting of an AI video of Minos Prime dancing over a Druski Dancing video, captioned, "NEW INTERNET RULE: RULE 386 ANYTHING THAT IS WHITE AND HAS A BLACK CIRCLE IN THE MIDDLE IS MINOS PRIME SPREAD THY INFO NOW!!" garnering over 125,000 views in 10 days.

Following the release of the video, TikTokers began commenting "rule 386" under videos that feature anything that resembles or reminds them of Minos Prime.

On May 4th, 2025, TikToker^[6] @temmie_240411barney posted a video of a white teddy bear with a hole in its face, garnering over 226,000 views in a week. The top comment under the video, with over 1,300 upvotes, reads, "rule 386."
