About
The "Ruben's Room" TikTok Trend, also known by the lyrics Come to the Land of the Lost and Lonely, refers to a TikTok trend about showing quirky or gross items in one's bedroom, set to the song "Freaks" by Jordan Clarke. The videos roughly followed the phrasal template, "I'm scared to join X's room," which was said by an item being added to a person's room.
Then, other items are shown greeting the new item, welcoming it to the "one big family of freaks," per the lyrics. The name of the person whose room it is replaces the "X" in the template. A viral video from a TikToker named Ruben (@sweaty_betty2) started the trend in mid-June 2025. Other videos from TikTokers @mcbrh__ and @jellybelly835 were also referenced by many amid the trend. The videos sparked viral reactions from other creators who reacted to the gross nature of the rooms being showcased. The footage of grotesque rooms is similar to neckbeard nest content.
