Origin

On November 28th, 2023, the Instagram^[1] account @dallastexas_tv posted a video that was allegedly taken in Rowlett, Texas at Rowlett High School, showing a male teacher angrily ranting and throwing a desk seemingly due to a student who had his phone out in class. On Instagram, the video received roughly 1.4 million views and 64,700 likes in two days (shown below).

The account also posted the video to its Twitter / X^[2] page, where it gained roughly 1.2 million views and 3,800 likes in two days.

Spread

After the video went viral on both platforms, reactions started to surface en masse. For instance, on November 28th, 2023, X^[3] user @discobtchcowgrl replied to the video, writing, "Bro makes $45k a year to deal with rude teenagers and non-existent management, I don’t blame him," gaining over 2,000 likes in two days (shown below, left).

In a viral quote posted by X^[4] user @djordxc on November 28th, 2023, the user also seemed to side with the teacher, gaining over 1,200 likes in the same timeframe (shown below, right).

Top comments left on the original Instagram^[1] post also seemingly sided with the teacher's actions (shown below), including one comment that identified the teacher as Dr. Bradshaw, saying, "Dr. Bradshaw is a BRILLIANT teacher. He pushed us to do our best everyday! He cared about our success deeply and it showed. Teachers are humans too and do NOT deserve to deal with the continuous disrespect from these kids…"

During the same timeframe, the video was reposted to TikTok,^[5] gaining viral engagement there as well.
