Root Beer No Root Beer! also known as Root Beer Cans Rolling Off Table, Root Beer Cans Falling Off Table, Root Beer in the Cowboys Heel or Put Another Root Beer in the Cowboy Mug, refers to a viral TikTok video uploaded by TikToker @nifreffa in January 2023 in which he's putting cans of Mug Root Beer into a Dallas Cowboys high-heeled shoe when suddenly multiple cans of root beer roll off the table in the dark while he screams, "Root Beer! No! Root Beer!" in an American, southern accent. The video inspired multiple re-edits that humorously overdramatized the moment and @nifreffa's sadness. The edits also spread to other platforms like YouTube and iFunny where many image macro memes also referenced the video.

Origin

On January 18th, 2023, TikToker^[1] @nifreffa posted a roughly 10-minute-long video that started with him putting "another root beer" in a Dallas Cowboys-themed high-heeled shoe made specifically for beverage placement. As @nifreffa was putting a Mug root beer can into the shoe, several cans of Mug root beer rolled off of the table he was sitting at in the dark to which he screamed, "Root beer! No! Root beer!" Over the course of two months, the video received roughly 1.7 million plays and 303,400 likes (shown below).

The "Root Beer No Root Beer!" video gained notoriety going into January 2023 as others on TikTok started to make ironically emotional edits. Currently, the first known to do so was TikToker^[2] @memehubrandom36 on January 26th, 2023, whose video gained roughly 98,300 plays and 7,000 likes in two months (shown below, left). On January 31st, TikToker^[3] @sarahbbbee posted their own edit using the video and cat imagery, gaining roughly 305,400 plays and 68,700 likes in a month and a half (shown below, right).

On February 16th, 2023, TikToker^[4] @1codjordan posted a video that added a crying Rick Grimes video from The Walking Dead to a "Root Beer No Root Beer!" edit, earning roughly 3.8 million plays and 493,400 likes in one month. Soon after, on February 20th, 2023, iFunnyer^[5] @Pineapplekat reposted @1codjordan's TikTok,^[4] gaining roughly 3,500 smiles in three weeks (shown below).

After the video's upload on iFunny, others on the platform started to post memes about the root beer rolling off the table. For instance, on March 13th, 2023, iFunnyer^[6] @YouAllAre_FuckingAwful posted a meme using a traumatized Vietnam War soldier and Impact text reading, "Me Watching Another / Another Can Of Rootbeer Roll Off The Table." In one day, the meme received roughly 4,200 smiles (shown below).
