Roger, Who Did This To You? refers to a viral video of a little boy crying over the death of his pet baby chicken, named Roger. He's seen holding the limp chick and repeating his name through tears, then asking, "Roger, who did this to you?" The video was widely circulated on TikTok in early July 2025, inspiring other creators to make videos about avenging Roger or humorously threatening whoever the boy was addressing. The original video was posted to Twitter / X by user @ape_apeee in April 2025.

On April 9th, 2025, X^[1] user @ape_apeee posted a video of her son holding his pet chick, Roger, after he had passed away. The video's caption read, "We lost a close family member to us last night. Papi took it pretty hard, his first pet…" In the video, the boy cries and says, "Roger, who did ths to you?"

Over three months, the video received over 9.2 million views and 68,000 likes (unembeddable, screenshot shown below).

In the replies to the original tweet, on April 9th, 2025, X^[2] user @yaboibunnie2k10 posted a "short film for my man Roger," gaining over 7,400 likes in three months (shown below).

On April 9th, X^[3] user @iamDominicHorne replied to the video with the Interstellar Crying GIF and the boy's quote, gaining over 400 likes in three months (shown below).

On April 10th, 2025, Instagram ^[4] user @deathoncampus reposted the contents of the original tweet as a Reel, which amassed over 218,800 likes in three months (shown below).

On July 7th, TikToker^[5] @strictlyjadedd reposted the original "Roger, Who Did This To You?" video, gaining over 613,400 likes in three days. The repost inspired numerous viral TikTok posts about Roger in the following days.

For instance, on July 9th, 2025, TikToker^[6] @juanxjulio1 posted a video in which he threatened whoever it was who "did this" to Roger, gaining over 464,300 likes in a day (shown below).

Also on July 9th, TikToker^[7] @newlife4life posted a clip of a man crying at a funeral, paired with the audio of the kid crying for Roger. In a day, the video received roughly 36,800 likes (shown below).

Later on July 9th, 2025, TikToker^[8] @pwitsart posted a webcomic representing the death of Roger the baby chick, gaining over 232,900 likes in a day (shown below).
