Roblox Therapy refers to memes, including videos and screenshots, of Roblox players undergoing therapy from other players in the game, often receiving bad advice from the therapist. The memes are largely created in the Roblox Experience "therapy" by @LINDON55 and were popularized in June 2024 on social media sites including TikTok, YouTube and X / Twitter.

Origin

Various Roblox therapy experiences have been available on Roblox[1] over the years, with one of the earliest examples being the Support Center by Serendipity Support Center, created on August 11th, 2018.

On November 20th, 2020, YouTuber[2] Jayingee posted a video trolling users on the server, titled, "TROLLING in ROBLOX THERAPY," garnering over 1.4 million views in four years (shown below, left). The YouTuber[3] posted another video doing this on June 26th, 2021, garnering over 1.5 million views in three years (shown below, right).

Spread

On December 18th, 2021, Roblox user @LINDON55 created the Roblox[4] Experience "therapy," a dedicated Roblox therapy server consisting of several therapist offices that players can enter to speak with a "therapist." The Experience became the most popular over the following years, garnering over 35 million visits and 198,000 favorites in three years.

Memes, including in-game screenshots and videos taken in the "therapy" server, became increasingly popularized throughout the early 2020s, becoming notably prevalent on TikTok in June 2024. Most of the videos feature therapists giving their patients bad advice.

For example, on June 11th, 2024, TikToker[5] @billyblon posted a video that gained over 4.1 million views in a month (shown below, left). On June 12th, TikToker[6] @reid.rblx posted a video that gained over 1.1 million views in the same rough span of time (shown below, right).

On June 13th, the video by TikToker @billyblon was reposted by X[7] user @EmirattiRBX, garnering over 4,900 likes in a month.

On July 3rd, X[8] user @FreakyPosting posted a screenshot of a Roblox player in a therapist's office accosting two female players, writing, "roblox therapy going well so far," garnering over 152,000 likes in three weeks (shown below). On July 9th, Redditor u/-autoprime- posted a screenshot of a Roblox chicken nugget getting therapy from Smiling Friends character Mr. Frog to the subreddit /r/GoCommitDie,[9] garnering over 280 upvotes in the same span of time.

On July 12th, 2024, TikToker[10] @billyblon posted another therapy video in which the therapist suggests he is fat, garnering over 6.1 million views in 12 days (shown below). The video was reposted by Instagram[11] user rblxmemes0 on July 14th, garnering over 52,000 likes in 10 days. It was reposted by X[12] user @RBXOutOfContext on July 16th, garnering over 34,000 likes in a week.
