Roblox Philly Dance Battles refers to videos of Roblox players having in-game dance battles in the Keystone Roblox experience. The videos started going viral on TikTok in early 2023, also gaining viral spread to Twitter.

Origin

On February 24th, 2023, TikToker^[1] @rockout_mike posted a recording of a dance battle in Roblox among players of the Keystone Roblox experience,^[2] garnering over 802,000 views in a month (shown below). The same TikToker posted three more dance battle videos to TikTok^[3][4][5] between February 24th and 28th.

Spread

On February 28th, 2023, Twitter^[6] user @Shlimeszn1 posted, "These roblox dance battles so fuckim funny," garnering over 769 likes in two weeks. Later that day, they retweeted^[7] themselves with the original video by @rockout_mike, writing, "He bodied this nigga LMFAOOO," garnering over 59,000 likes in the same span of time. On the same day, YouTuber^[10] Lana's Life posted a Short referencing Roblox dance battles, garnering over 12 million views in two weeks (shown below).

On March 5th, TikTokers^[8][9] @webtacular and @chanceiwancei posted dance battle videos that gained over 1.6 million and 3 million views respectively in 11 days (shown below, left and right).
