Ricky When I Catch You Ricky is a viral catchphrase coined by New York drill rapper Envy Caine during a 2021 livestream in which he issued taunts and threats to fellow rapper Coast da Ghost. "Ricky when I catch you Ricky" is a phrase repeated by Caine during the stream, with the soundbite becoming a viral TikTok trend and original sound in September 2023.
Origin
Sometime in May 2021, drill rapper Envy Caine went live online to issue threats and taunts to fellow drill rapper Coast da Ghost, saying that he was in New York and ready to fight Ghost. As per a May 11th, 2021, reupload by the YouTube[1] page Melz Tv, at the 4:13 time stamp Caine says "Stop hiding, you hiding forever" and repeats "Ricky when I catch you Ricky" eight times (seen below).
The earliest known upload of the clip to TikTok was on August 13th, 2023, with TikToker[2] @doaxxs4's upload gathering over 6.5 million plays and 1.1 million likes in a month (seen below).

On August 17th, 2023, TikToker[3] @zaytashon posted a video using the catchphrase and gathering over 500,000 plays and 57,000 likes in a month (seen below, left). On August 19th, TikToker[4] @therealobilly posted a video using the sound and gathering over 190,000 plays and 40,000 likes in a month (seen below, right).
An August 29th, 2023, TikTok[5] post by @cartervkk gathered over 16 million plays and 4.2 million likes in two weeks (seen below, left). On September 4th, TikToker[6] @lilcoffeyy posted a video using the sound, gathering over 27 million plays and 5.5 million likes in two weeks (seen below, right).
