About

Reverb Fart Sound Effect is a viral sound effect of a fart with a high amount of reverb added to it. In video memes, the reverb fart sound effect is often added to enhance the video or make it funny. Since 2020, Reverb Fart Sound Effect has been used in many different videos similar to Vine Boom and Bruh Sound Effect, with spin-off memes existing solely because of Reverb Fart Sound Effect.

Origin

On January 28th, 2020, TikToker sinmineral[1] uploaded a seven-second TikTok that they claim to have made using the Voloco app. In the TikTok, they can be heard farting with the added echo and reverb before their face appears in the camera and they screech, which earned them over 677,000 likes in four years (shown below).

Spread

The Fart Reverb Sound Effect quickly started to spread on TikTok, with several different uses for it being made and posted during 2020. For example, on March 19th, 2020, TikToker stephanie.frazier[2] uploaded a TikTok of her friend pretending to use a Walmart phone to send the fart sound throughout the entire store. This TikTok, which would start a trend of several others going into stores and pretending to fart into the store PA system, gained over 824,000 likes in four years (shown below).

Throughout 2021, the Reverb Fart Sound Effect was featured in several different videos as a sound effect similar to Metal Pipe Falling. Memes that traditionally had other sounds attached to them would usually be replaced with the Reverb Fart as a smaller form of bait-and-switch.

This can be seen in the September 14th, 2021, upload to YouTube by Meme Lord[3] in which a Princess Peach Letter meme has the message replaced with "Reverb Fart Sfx," earning over 316,000 views in two years (shown below).
