On March 20th, 2025, Instagram[1] user notpresidentlloyd, the official account of Twitch streamer PresidentLloyd, posted a clip of himself playing the video game R.E.P.O during a stream. In the clip, Lloyd watches as another player, Just_CSmallz sings "Chest Pain (I Love)" by Malcolm Todd while rolling around on the ground. When he stops, Lloyd tries to get him to keep singing. The video gained over 2.4 million likes and views in two weeks.

The clip garnered viral spread over the following days. On March 22nd, 2025, TikToker[2] @42_r_24 reposted it without Lloyd's reaction, garnering over 5.5 million views in two weeks.

On March 27th, PresidentLloyd uploaded an edited VOD of the stream to his PresidentLloyd Plays YouTube[3] channel, garnering over 62,000 views in just over a week.

On March 29th, 2025, TIkToker[4] @c00lerdude posted an edit of the clip that begins with the player singing the song, then transitions to Malcolm Todd singing the song, garnering over 17.9 million views in a week.

On March 31st, YouTuber[5] TheRedPandaAnimations posted an original animation reimagining the scene, showing the same yellow R.E.P.O. character singing the song, which then transitions to the actual song, garnering over 322,000 views in a week.

On April 4th, 2025, TikToker[6] @codaanim posted an original animation based on the scene that garnered over 28.1 million views in four days.

On April 5th, TikToker[7] @dragonsync posted an animation that garnered over 11.2 million views in three days.
