About

Reach Flow State and Jeffree Star Rearranging Eyeshadow refer to a series of memes, primarily on TikTok, about reaching a flow state while successfully performing or multitasking several mundane or unimportant tasks. The memes are set to an audio clip of YouTuber Shane Dawson from his Beautiful World of Jeffree Star series, saying, "Whoa, whoa," while Jeffree Star rearranges eyeshadow test shades for their Conspiracy Palette. The meme was popularized on TikTok in early November 2025 as a lip dub trend, gaining some spread on other social media platforms.

Origin

On October 11th, 2019, Shane Dawson released the third part of his YouTube[1] docuseries on Jeffree Star, The Beautiful World of Jeffree Star, in which the two make an eyeshadow palette together. The video, titled, The Dangerous World of Jeffree Star, gained over 24 million views in six years.

At the 45:13 mark, Jeffree Star rearranges eye shadow test shades while dramatic music plays. Dawson is shocked at Star's efficiency, remarking, "Whoa, whoa," and saying, "You're a machine."

On July 20th, 2025, TikToker[2] @jenniferlaz_1 reposted the clip, captioned, "To me this was neuroscience," garnering over 3.5 million views in four months.

The resurfaced Jeffree Star clip inspired memes in which people rearrange things to the audio under captions about the importance of the scene to them.

For example, on October 31st, TikToker[3] @calla.hansen posted a video like this where someone rearranges Jell-O shots, garnering over 11 million views in around two weeks.

On November 11th, TikToker[4] @realgriddyjones posted a lip dub video to the sound where she drinks water, watches YouTube and eats snacks under the caption, "When I'm eating turbos while drinking cold water and watching youtube an i seriously reach a flow state," garnering over 3.7 million views in six days.

This is the earliest known version of the meme to use the term "flow state" along with the audio.

A "flow state" is a state of mind in which one feels completely in tune with their mind and body.[5]
