RBD Reunion or Rebelde World Tour 2023 refers to the announcement of the Mexican music group Rebelde's (RBD) new world tour, 15 years after their last live performance. The group also shared other surprises, to which users of social media immediately reacted with memes celebrating RBD's comeback.

Origin

RBD[1] is a Mexican Latin pop group that was featured in Televisa's telenovela Rebelde, gaining popularity between 2004 and 2006. The group split 15 years ago, and on December 19th, 2022, the official Twitter[2] page of the group shared a video teasing a possible reunion for the band. The post received 795,600 views and 72,300 likes in two months (seen below).

A month later, on January 19th, 2023, the band went to World Trade Center in Mexico City to announce their comeback and world tour. The group also shared the news on their Twitter,[2] @RBD_Official, receiving 316,000 views and 24,200 likes in two weeks (seen below).

People also joked about the age of the fans now, 15 years after the band's split. Twitter[4] user @odaradeverdade shared a tweet of an old woman dressed as a teen with the caption "The 30+ arriving at the RBD show dressed as Mia Colucci." RBD World Tour Ticket Sales

Like Taylor Swift's high demand for tickets on her upcoming 2023 The Eras Tour, RBD fans struggled to snatch tickets for the concerts, sharing their frustrations with memes on social media. Twitter[5] user @victorwulfric posted a tweet about the difficulty he faced in order to acquire a ticket. The post received 672,500 views and 8,700 likes in five days (seen below).

During the initial sales on January 27th, 2023, Brazilian fans of the band started a fight for the tickets, as @rbdmaniaco shared on Twitter.[6] The video received 1.1 million views and 8,900 likes in three days.
