About

"Ramirez, Do Everything!" is a catchphrase and image macro series referencing a character from the first-person shooter video game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Image macros typically feature a centered picture of Sergeant Foley, a non-playable character in the game, with the word "RAMIREZ!" on the top line, and an order of some kind on the bottom line.

Origin

One of the game's playable characters is Private James Ramirez, the deuteragonist of the campaign that is first introduced in the "Wolverines!" mission. According to the Call of Duty Wiki[1], Sergeant Foley gives a total of 56 scripted orders to Ramirez during the game.

Spread

The catchphrase became popular online on 4chan's /v/ (videogame) board in Call of Duty related threads.

The earliest known instance of Ramirez exploitable template was posted on MemeGenerator[2] on November 16, 2009. As of August 2011, the Memegenerator page has accumulated over 15,000 images.

The joke spread to a number of other sites including the GameFAQs[3] and GameSpot[4] discussions forums. A Facebook[5] page named after the catchphrase has accumulated 3,868 likes as of August 2nd, 2011.

Search queries for "ramirez do everything" peaked in February of 2010, and this may be related to the "RAMIREZ" YouTube video that was uploaded one month prior and has received 458,989 views as of August 2011.
