About

Rain Rain Go Away is an English language nursery rhyme starting with the lines "rain, rain, go away, come again another day." In June 2019, memes imagining that the weather can effectively be controlled by singing the line gained major popularity on Reddit.

Origin

The exact origins of the nursery rhyme are unknown. The rhyme can be dated to at least 17th century when it was recorded by Anglo-Welsh historian and writer James Howell in his collection of proverbs.[1]
