About
Quirked Up White Boy Goated With The Sauce refers to a slang overload copypasta that reads, "quirked up white boy with a little bit of swag busts it down sexual style.. is he goated with the sauce?" The bizarre combination of words led to jokes on Twitter and other platforms in late 2021 after appearing in a viral tweet.
Origin
On December 17th, 2021, Twitter user @minga__[1] tweeted, "quirked up white boy with a little bit of swag busts it down sexual style.. is he goated with the sauce?," gaining over 1,700 retweets and 18,000 likes in roughly two weeks (shown below). This may be a reference to the recent surge in memes relating to Sickly Skinny White Men, though this is unconfirmed.
Spread
Over the following weeks in late 2021, the post was used in memes that misattributed the bizarre combination to various people. For example, on December 20th, 2021, iFunny[2] user Xasthur posted a meme that attributed the quote to the philosopher Hegel, gaining over 1,200 likes in 10 days (shown below, left). On December 28th, Twitter user @jetski0[3] attributed it to David Lynch's character in Twin Peaks, gaining over 1,200 retweets and 8,600 likes in two days (shown below, right).
Quirked Up White Boy, Busting It Down Sexual Style TikToks
In late December, the catchphrase was used on TikTok. On December 24th, TikToker[4] faartcoomer posted a video that received roughly 23,700 plays and 4,000 likes over the course of one month (shown below).
Spread Back to Instagram
Screenshots of faartcoomer's TikTok were posted to Instagram [5] two days later. Going into January 2022, the meme spread more prominently on Instagram. For instance, on January 17th, Instagram[6] page fakeyeezyboots captioned an image of Bill Gates, earning roughly 6,900 likes in six days (shown below, left). Three days later, on January 20th, Instagram[7] page dopesoulnation posted a meme that referenced the trend, receiving roughly 2,200 likes in four days (shown below, right).
On January 21st, 2022, the meme picked up again en masse on TikTok after TikToker[8] dillvveed posted a video in which she relayed a fake "Breaking News" headline about a quirked up white boy busting it down sexual style gone wrong. The TikTok (shown below, left) received roughly 136,600 plays and 30,900 likes over the course of three days. TikTokers started to exploit the sound in their own videos. For instance, on January 22nd, TikToker[9] eatthis4now earned roughly 24,700 likes over the course of two days for a video he posted (shown below, right).
Fox News Donald Trump Voice-Over
On January 25th, 2022, TikToker[10] nomeatmashers posted a greenscreen video in which he is pretending to be Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson. In January, Carlson had received backlash for giving air time to multiple, silly topics, like his segment on 'Miserable, Non-binary Candy' during the M&M Characters Modern Makeover trend. Nomeatmashers' TikTok touched on this reference, adding the Quirked Up White Boy reference to create a video that received roughly 849,000 plays and 187,900 likes in three days (shown below).
The next day, TikToker[11] colerightnow added onto the skit, impersonating former U.S. President Donald Trump taking a call on the show, adding a new element. The video (shown below) received roughly 36,700 likes in two days.
TikTokers began using the sound from the aforementioned TikTok above to make their own videos. For instance, two videos (shown below) each received over 100,000 plays in less than a day.
