Pulling Chief Wiggum is a scene from episode five of season 17 of the animated TV series The Simpsons in which characters Lou and Eddie pull character Chief Wiggum on a tandem bicycle. In mid-June 2019, a still image from the scene gained popularity as an object labeling meme, used in reference to "dead weight" situations.
Origin
On November 13th, 2005, episode five "Marge's Son Poisoning" of season 17 of the animated TV series The Simpsons premiered.[1] In one scene of the episode, police officers Lou and Eddie are riding a tandem bicycle, pulling a trolley with chief Clancy Wiggum in it behind (GIF from the episode shown below).[2]

On June 18th, Redditor M1ghty_boy used a still image from the scene for an object labeling meme.[3] The post gained over 21,600 upvotes in /r/pcmasterrace subreddit in six days (shown below).
In the following days, the meme format gained moderate spread on Reddit, with notable posts appearing in /r/dankmemes,[4] /r/prequelmemes[5] and other subreddits.
