About

Pull Up In The Sri Lanka is a quote by reality television personality Wendy Osefo said while on The Wendy Williams Show in early November 2021. During the show, guest host Michael Rapaport asks Osefo if she's a fan of Nicki Minaj, to which Osefo incredulously asks, "Am I a fan?" She then attempts to demonstrate her passion as a fan by rapping Minaj's verse from the Kanye West song "Monster." However, she flubs the line, leading her to rap the nonsensical lyric, "Pull up in the Sri Lanka." The sound was then used in TikTok skits in which people confidently attempt to demonstrate their prowess in a subject but fail.

Origin

On November 8th, 2021, Wendy Osefo appeared on The Wendy Williams Show.[1] During the appearance, guest host Michael Rapaport asked her if she's a Nicki Minaj fan. Osefo attempts to demonstrate her passion as a Nicki Minaj fan by rapping Minaj's verse in Kanye West's "Monster," which goes, "Pull up in the monster automobile gangsta, with a bad bitch that came from Sri Lanka." Osefo flubs the rap and says, "Pull up in the Sri Lanka" (shown below).

For example, on November 27th, TikToker[3] justinfukoo posted a sketch that gained over 2.1 million likes (shown below, right).
