Prom Dress Lil Jon Remix refers to a sound clip created for TikTok which combines mxmtoon's song "Prom Dress" with interjections of "Yeah" "What" and "Okay" from lil Jon. The remix was created by TikToker mattsmixtape in October 2019 and by November TikTok users were using the sound in TikToks which portrays someone having a surprising reaction to serious news.

Origin

On September 17th, 2019, mxmtoon released her song "Prom Dress" on Bandcamp.^[1] October 1st, 2019, TikTok user @mattsmixtape uploaded the sound clip "mxmtoon-prom dress (feat. Lil Jon)" and used it in a TikTok video which garnered over 51,300 likes and 1,100 shares in two months (shown below).

On October 2nd, 2019, The singer of "Prom Dress" mxmtoon uploaded a video using the sound clip (shown below, left). The video accumulated over 110,800 likes and 1,300 shares in two months. On November 19th, @hayleybabbyofficial uploaded a video using the clip in which her boyfriend reacts positively to herself without makeup (shown below, center). The video gained over 839,900 likes and 5,800 shares in a week. On November 24th, TikToker @arden_tayler uploaded another iteration in which she tells her new boyfriend she is pregnant which received over 1.2 million likes and 16,700 shares in two days (shown below, right).
