Press Twist Pull or #PressTwistPull Challenge refers to a series of TikTok videos in which users write "press" on the top of their hand, "twist" on the top side of their pointer finger and then "pull" on the inside of their pointer finger as instructions for a second person to follow which will lead to the reveal of a secret message written on the palm of their hand.

Origin

On April 22nd, 2016, singer Halsey uploaded a remix of her song "Colors" by producer Audien (shown below, left). The song received over 2.5 million views and 49,000 likes in three years. The remix has been used in the majority of the Press Twist Pull Tik Tok videos. Although the first Press Twist Pull TikTok video is unknown the first YouTube video featuring the challenge was uploaded on February 27th, 2019 by YouTuber HEY GIRL hey (shown below, right). The video gained over 4,900 views in two months.

On March 3rd, 2019, TikTok user @zephanclark uploaded a Press Twist Pull video which gained over 1.6 million likes and 41,100 shares in two months (shown below, left). Most videos were pranks while others had sentimental messages written on their palm. On March 6th, @bbfosty uploaded another popular rendition with over 2.2 million likes and 76,900 shares in two months (shown below, center). On March 11th, @minnieandtink uploaded a video that gained over 1.4 million likes and 24,400 shares in two months (shown below, right).
