POV Soulmate Wrist is a series of TikTok POV Roleplay videos in which users pretend that when someone turns 16 their soulmate's first words to them are written on their wrist. The videos, that are often set to the song "You" by Petit Biscuit, began trending in March 2020 and included parodies as well as sincere roleplays.

Origin

On February 27th, 2020, TikToker @makdoeswhatever uploaded the first "POV Soulmate Wrist" video with the description, "POV: In a world where at the age of 16, your arm is marked with the first words your soulmate will say to you" (shown below). The video which implemented the song "You" by Petit Biscuit[1] garnered over 300,100 likes in a week.

Spread

On February 27th, 2020, TikToker @nyahjones_ used the "You – Petit Biscuit" to repeat the idea and act out growing older waiting for her soulmate to say the words written on her wrist (shown below, left). The video gained over 978,000 likes in a week. On February 29th, TikToker @itsjustjennaaaa received over 2.1 million likes for her video (shown below, center). On March 1st, TikToker @miaathorsen uploaded another popular iteration that accumulated over 2.9 million likes in four days (shown below, right).
