Post Malone "Hell Yeah, Man, Congratulations" is a viral video of musical artist Post Malone congratulating a fan who recently had a daughter, saying, "Hell yeah, man. Congratulations, dude. That's amazing." The video was posted to TikTok in late April 2023 and went viral, with some using Post's demeanor and visible loss of weight in the video as supposed evidence that he is high or going through drug problems, which Post denied. Throughout May 2023 leading into June, a green screen of Post from the video started to see use as an exploitable meme in video edits.

Origin

On April 28th, 2023, TikToker^[1][2] @itsjustmetaniax posted two videos of Post Malone meeting with fans during his tour in Europe, garnering over 12.6 million and 57.8 million views respectively in two months (shown below, left and right). In the latter video, a fan tells Post that he just had a daughter and Post congratulates him and then takes a photo with the fan. Post also had a daughter recently. Some of the top comments on the video share worries about Post purportedly being high, pointing out how he looks skinny in the video and that his eyes are "heavy."

That night, Post made a post on Instagram^[3] claiming he is not on drugs, writing:

"i wanted to say that i’m not doing drugs, i’ve had a lot of people ask me about my weight loss and i’d suppose, performance on stage. i’m having a lot of fun performing, and have never felt healthier. i guess dad life kicked in and i decided to kick soda, and start eating better so i can be around for a long time for this little angel. next up is smokes and brews, but i like to consider myself a patient man… lol!"

The earliest known meme to use the clip was posted by TikToker^[4] @bcut87 on May 2nd, garnering over 4.5 million views in a month (shown below). It was reposted to the Stereogum YouTube^[5] page that day, garnering over 363,000 views in the same span of time.

The meme became increasingly popularized over the following weeks on sites including YouTube, Instagram and TikTok. On May 3rd, 2023, TikToker^[6] @dustinharp1 posted a meme using the clip that gained over 55,000 views in a month (shown below, left). On June 1st, TikToker^[7] @stinkyhotbootyfart posted a meme that gained over 95,000 views in two weeks (shown below, right).

On the same day, Instagram^[8] user keeganvsfish posted a meme using the clip, garnering over 52,000 likes in two weeks (shown below, left). On June 2nd, Instagram^[9] user crackheadjoedirt posted a meme using the video that gained over 590,000 likes in the same span of time (shown below, right).
