Poppy's Voicemail is American musician Poppy's 2019 single which became a popular audio clip on TikTok in March 2020, typically in reaction to a skit about needing to run.

Origin

On January 31st, 2019, Poppu uploaded "Poppy – Voicemail (Official Music Video)" (shown below). The video garnered over 2.3 million views and 70,000 likes in a month.

Spread

On February 27th, 2020, TikToker @kornelnagy first used the a clip of the songs audio in a video about .01% of Germs running away (shown below, left). The video gained over 320,800 likes in two weeks. On March 7th, TikToker @itsaluhsin used the same sound clip in a skit in which they beat their sibling to the bathroom which received over 304,400 likes in five days (shown below, center). On March 11th, @joshmclaughlin._ uploaded a another skit used the sound "RUNNIN RUNNIN RUNNIN – kornelnagy" which accumulated over 255,300 likes in a day.
