Please Please Please is a viral TikTok sound effect from 2022 that is used in lip-dub skits and videos to show a person's desperation for something or to show what they would beg for. The audio emerged from a screen recording of a voice memo iMessage conversation and was then transformed into a trend where people typically get on their knees and fold their palms while mimicking the voice memo audio.
Origin
On July 4th, 2022, TikToker[1] @piscesrot posted a screen recording of an iMessage conversation. A voice memo in the conversation consisted of a girl's voice saying "please, please please" repeatedly. The post gathered 6.2 million views and 1.2 million likes in nearly two months (seen below).
Spread
On July 7th, 2022, TikToker[2] @thickneyy posted a video using the sound. The video contained a text overlay that read, "Me begging his opps to leave him alone," and gathered over 200,000 views and over 50,000 likes in nearly two months (seen below).
On July 8th, 2022, TikToker[3] @zannooo posted a video participating in the trend, gathering over 200,000 likes and 50,000 views as well (seen below).
