Please Don't Make Me Get a Job!!!!!!!! refers to a series of image macros that use the catchphrase "Please don't make me get a job" (with multiple exclamation points) to caption a photo of an objectively pathetic activity that is most often a video game and food or beverage — the combination of which infers that the person is an immature adult. The original iteration used a photo of Ben and Jerry's "core" ice cream and the Zelda game Ocarina of Time 3D on a Nintendo 3DS.

Origin

On July 3rd, 2023, X^[1] user @summerahrens tweeted a meme that captioned a photo of Ben and Jerry's "core" ice cream and the Zelda game Ocarina of Time 3D on a Nintendo 3DS, captioned, "please dont make me get a job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" The tweet received over 59,000 likes in 10 months (shown below). In a reply, X^[2] user @summerahrens claimed that the image was sourced from a TikToker named zeldacult. It is currently unknown who zeldacult is as they either changed their username or were deleted on TikTok.

Months later, on April 3rd, 2024, Instagram^[3] user @uncrustable.memess reposted the image, receiving over 430,800 likes in a month.

On May 21st, X^[4] user @mitsvayas tweeted a video showing themself with lots of merch from the manga Tgswiiwagaa, captioned, "Please don’t make me get a job !!!" receiving over 3,100 likes in a week (shown below).

On May 26th, 2024, X^[5] user @sceneheart tweeted an iteration with Stardew Valley and Corona Extra in a wine glass, gaining over 220,000 likes in two days (shown below, left).

Later on May 26th, X^[6] user @summerahrens posted a new iteration with Absolut vodka and Leauge of Legends, gaining over 8,000 likes in a day (shown below, right).
